Privacy Policy

Darkora · Effective October 16, 2026

Darkora is a tool for making silent looping GIFs on your iPhone. This policy describes what stays on your device, what the app may send when you enter the studio, and how you can delete server-side session data.

Network service

Studio entry uses a backend we operate over HTTPS. That service powers the entry gate (including an invitation code when required), issues a session token, and may return configuration for the desk experience. GIF frames, camera clips, microphone audio, drafts, and exported loops are not uploaded.

Data sent for entry

When the app opens or refreshes the entry flow, it may send:

If you enter an invitation code, that code is sent so the service can validate entry. Later requests may include a session token.

Session token — purpose and retention

A successful open returns a session token. The app stores it locally and sends it on later requests so the service can recognize the same studio session, renew device context, and apply entry or desk configuration. The token is not a password and is not used to sell advertising or to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

On the server, session records (installation identifier, the device descriptors above, and related session state) are kept for up to 30 days from the last successful refresh. Inactivity past that window expires the record automatically.

How to delete server-side data

In the app, open Badge → Settings → Shred Badge. That action deletes the current server session, rotates the local installation identifier, clears the local session token, and deletes local loops, drafts, badge data, and related files on this device.

Leave Studio only signs you out locally and keeps your loops; it does not delete the server session. Deleting the app removes local data but may leave an unexpired server session until TTL expiry or until you shred while still signed in. For help with deletion, use the support page linked below.

Data that stays on this device

Your creative content stays in local storage unless you save or share it yourself:

Camera

The camera is used only when you choose to shoot stills or a short clip for a GIF. Clips stop at 12 seconds. Frames stay on the device unless you later save or share them yourself. Camera media is not uploaded.

Microphone

The microphone is used only while you record a camera clip, so you can hear the take when you trim. You can turn the microphone off and still record a silent clip. The exported GIF has no sound. Audio is not uploaded.

Photos

Choosing a video or photos uses the system picker. Darkora does not ask to read your photo library. Saving a GIF asks only for permission to add that file to Photos. The app does not scan the rest of your library.

What we do not do

Children

Darkora is a general-audience creative tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated page will be posted at this address with a new effective date. The app links here from the entry screen and from Settings.
